Sake Gallery

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

I’ve only been oil painting for just under two years now, but it is something I do on a near daily basis. I’ve been hesitant to display my work publicly or attempt to sell any of it, but as of Thursday evening, that all changes. I have two pieces (shown below) that are hanging in the Mnemonic Gallery for the Sake event.

Press Release

The group show SAKE, is 38 fine artists showing their erotic works. SAKE has invited these artists to explore what erotic is to them. With a variety of mixed media, the SAKE artists will show their abstract collages, fine art photography and paintings; as well we will plumb into the erotic performances from many local performance talents. FREE. April 3rd, 2008 6pm-11pm, Mnemonic Gallery 619 Western Ave. Seattle WA.

The official Sake website is here.

Sunrise

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

There’s so many other things I need to be doing right now but today’s sunrise was the best I’ve seen in a long time. I was lucky enough to have caught it early as well as having my camera actually charged. Images are as they were taken - no mods.

Minimal spanning tree problem: the genetic algorithm approach

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Purpose

The purpose of this page is to demonstrate solving the classic minimal spanning tree (MST) problem using a genetic algorithm or sometimes called evolution computing. While they are easier to understand and code than Prim’s, Krustal’s, or other popular methods, it is trickier in terms of data representation and has quite a few pitfalls, most of which can be avoided.

output2.pngImplemented successfully, a genetic algorithm can solve a MST problem in less than linear expected time - expected in this case meaning “estimated” and “probably” where as Prim’s and Krustal’s are slightly over.

Steps in Painting

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Since I’m pretty much self taught in the oil painting arena, I’ve often wondered what the process other artists go through when painting. In the spirit of sharing, here are some pictures I took during a painting I recently finished.
